Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

I’m from Denver and graduated from Colby College in 2003 and Daniels in 2021. I’ve worked at Three Forks (3F) since 2009, working my way up in the organization. 3F is a luxury guest destination on the Colorado/Wyoming border, 40 miles north of Steamboat Springs. I’ve held multiple positions here starting as a hostess, later became the Lodge Manager, and I’m now the GM. I love people, love to travel and ski, and to spend time with my husband and our two young children.

Why did you choose MBA@Denver?

I knew it would be rigorous and challenging but it also appealed to my full-time working schedule. I also saw in the program an opportunity for networking.

How has the program impacted your current work and prepared you to be a leader in your industry?

I did my concentration in executive leadership. Every course I took was applicable to my work, which was very motivating — especially as I tried to balance work, school, and family. My confidence in finance especially was bolstered and the program just gave me a broader business understanding.

What career successes did you see after graduating from MBA@Denver?

I have a greater foundation of knowledge to lean on, and peers and professors to lean on as well. I’ve also seen my responsibilities and expectations of me grow, which is exciting.

How did this degree move you closer to your long-term career goals?

I absolutely love my job and anticipate staying with my organization indefinitely. I truly have hopes of retiring from this job many years from now. My MBA@Denver degree has given me the confidence to lead us into the future, grow the business, and know that I can bring something to any organization for which I work.

What has been your experience with the MBA@Denver alumni network?

I’ve stayed in touch with a few of my professors and peers with whom I really connected. I have no doubt those relationships will be long lasting.
