Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?

I’m originally from Houston, though I now reside in Seattle, after pit stops in New York City and Phoenix along the way. I am 36 years old and live with my dog Pepper, who has been very understanding during the two years of my MBA Program! I have worked in the sports industry for the past couple years and recently made a switch to the tech industry.

Why did you decide to pursue your MBA?

Originally, I wanted to pursue my MBA to further my career in the sports industry. As the quarters progressed and I was introduced to other fields, I decided to explore opportunities in tech, which is how I landed at Expedia Group in September 2021.

What made you choose MBA@Denver?

The flexibility, the curriculum and the MBA@Denver staff. I needed a program that would work with my full-time work schedule but also had a curriculum that would challenge and stretch me professionally. Also, since it is an online delivery, the immersions were a huge part of my decision. I loved the experience of collaborating with my peers in person.

What has your experience been like collaborating with classmates in an online environment?

I’m sure we all are experiencing Zoom fatigue, but class online was more of a collaboration space. My classes have been lively, conversational and exciting. I have appreciated how my professors kept class fun and engaging.

What advice do you have for others considering this degree?

DO IT! There are no downsides to furthering your education — ok, well, some weekends are going to be reserved for papers and assignments, but overall, it’s worth it.

What was your favorite part of the immersion experience?

My favorite part of the most recent immersion on campus was actually being on campus and having that experience with my peers.
