Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico. I earned a bachelor’s degree in physics engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (TEC de Monterrey). After graduation, I joined Sony Electronics as a product engineer and took roles of increased responsibility. During that journey I moved from engineering to supply management, and I soon realized that supply management was the area I wanted to focus on and develop my career. After 10 years with Sony Electronics I joined Medtronic in Tijuana in 2003, where I worked as site purchasing manager for eight years. Then, 10 years ago, the company relocated me to Boulder, Colorado, to support the local new product development sourcing team. I’ve now been with Medtronic for 18.5 years, and Medtronic is truly helping me to achieve my career goals.
