Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?

I grew up in Wisconsin, just across the state border from the Twin Cities. I live a very active lifestyle that includes CrossFit, basketball, hiking, and Spikeball. I enjoy spending time with friends, and exploring Denver, the amazing city I live in. I’ve worked in healthcare since my junior year in undergrad when I became a certified nursing assistant. I fell in love with an industry that cares for people and where I now get to make a difference in the lives of my residents each day as a nursing home administrator.

Why did you decide to pursue your MBA?

I have always enjoyed learning and school. I knew an MBA was what I needed for furthering my career, so a few years after completing my undergraduate degree, I started looking at MBA programs.

What made you choose MBA@Denver?

The MBA@Denver program was attractive to me because it combined in-person time (via Zoom, synchronous time) and the flexibility of asynchronous work. I was also thrilled to not have to take the GMAT or GRE for entrance, thanks to my career experience.

What has your experience been like collaborating with classmates in an online environment?

An online environment may make it seem difficult to collaborate and foster relationships with classmates, but I can happily say that I’ve created and maintained several working relationships with classmates I’m also thrilled to call friends.

What advice do you have for others considering this degree?

You will not regret choosing the MBA@Denver program; you will see your return on investment. The program is tough, but certainly worth the work you’ll put in. Take advantage of learning as much as you can from your professors — they all have a great amount of industry and life experience.

What was your favorite part of the immersion experience?

Getting to spend quality, in-person time learning and reflecting with classmates.
